The Marketing Apprentice will work closely with the marketing team to develop their own personal skills and gain experience in many areas including PR, GDPR and compliance, digital marketing and communications. To ensure you are aware of the whole process, your role will invole assisting with orders through to preparing the item to be delivered.

Ideally, you will be someone who will grow in your role with the potential to develop into a full Marketing Assistant role. You’ll support the marketing and communications team with a wide range of administrative duties and tasks – from loading event information onto our website, analysing social media engagement and monitoring media activity.

Main Duties:

Supporting the marketing team across all areas including;

  • Design & artwork
  • Social media content and scheduling
  • Website and social media analysis
  • Media tracking
  • Photography and video of events and activities
  • Promotion of a variety of products and campaigns
  • Research
  • Data handling including GDPR compliance checks and updates
  • Update the company website, ensuring maintenance of all web listings, imagery, descriptions and categories
  • Handling of incoming calls and queries
  • Liaise with all departments across the organisation to gather, define, collate, schedule and assign work requests within the marketing department
  • Updating and tracking of the marketing pipeline
  • Oversee the internal and external management and distribution of printed materials
  • Be the first point-of-contact for all administrative marketing tasks
  • Liaison with external supporters and volunteers
  • Act as a Brand Ambassador, ensuring the company brand is used correctly and consistently across the entire organisation and all stakeholders
  • Generate ideas to increase communication activity across all channels
  • Contribute to the development of marketing plans
  • Assist with general duties Including packing, arranging shipping via couriers with some production and labouring when necessary

As part of your contract of employment completion of the Apprenticeship Training Programme forms part of your duties as well as helping your personal and professional development; the requirements to complete the programme are as follows:

  • Attend and be punctual for all induction sessions
  • Attend and be punctual for all lessons
  • Complete all required assignments by the required timeline.
  • Build up your portfolio of evidence on-going during your apprenticeship programme.
  • Access support from your tutor/assessor as and when required
  • Access support from your manager with regards to any evidence requirements or support as and when required
  • Attend all work-based training/support sessions

The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by the organisation which is relevant to your post within the company to meet the overall business objectives

Future prospects

There is a strong possibility that you will gain a permanent position (subject to availability), following successful employment as well as achievement of the full apprenticeship programme.

There may also be further apprenticeship/other training available following successful employment and achievement of the apprenticeship qualifications.

Good MS office skills Word, Outlook, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint
Experience using the main social media platforms as well email and the web
Digital organisational skills, including computerised file and folder organisation

Enthusiasm, reliability, flexibility and self-motivation
Good attention to detail
Creative frame of mind
A genuine interest in marketing and a desire to learn and grow along with us.
Educated to GCSE level including English and Maths

Desirable:
Strong administration and organisational skills
Ability to use initiative and work under pressure
Have an excellent attention for detail and strong proofreading skills
Basic knowledge of the Adobe suite

Qualifications

GCSE in Maths, English grade C/4 or equivalent is required Desirable to have: A or AS Level in Business / Media / English or BTEC National in Business / Marketing / IT BTech Business or ICT Level 2 and or 3 Other Marketing / Graphic Design / IT qualification is preferable Any other relevant qualification is of interest
